Honey, Inc. FAQ

Short, honest answers to the questions players actually ask about Honey, Inc. — is it free, where it runs, what happens while you are away, and what a reset really costs you.

This Honey Inc FAQ collects the questions that come up most often in mail, store reviews and chat. Every answer here reflects how the shipped game behaves. Where a system deserves more than a paragraph, the answer links through to the full wiki page for it — start with how to play if you are completely new, or beginner tips if you have played an hour or two and want to stop making avoidable mistakes.

Playing the game

Is Honey, Inc. free?

Yes. Honey, Inc. is free to download and free to play on both iOS and Android. Honeycombs, the game's hard currency, are earned in game from wasps, crates, mail, daily rewards, ads and referrals, so the systems they unlock — including boosts and epic research — are reachable through normal play.

What platforms is Honey, Inc. on?

iOS and Android, through the App Store and Google Play. There is also a Telegram mini app version. It is a mobile game rather than a desktop one, built around short check-ins on a phone.

Can I play without downloading anything?

Yes. Honey, Inc. is playable as a Telegram mini app, which runs inside Telegram rather than as an installed app. If you would rather have it on your home screen with everything a native build offers, the App Store and Google Play versions are the ones to get.

Does the game work offline, and does it earn while closed?

Your farm keeps producing after you close the app. The base offline window is 2 hours, and every honey jar you hold adds another hour of stored away time on top of that. Bees work at 80% efficiency while you are away, and 100% of the honey produced offline is retained — there is no second reduction when you collect. When you reopen the game you get an away-time summary of what happened. Some parts of the game are validated on the server rather than on your device, including Honeycomb balances and the daily reward cycle. Full detail is on the offline progress page.

Is there a leaderboard?

Yes. The leaderboard ranks players on Royal Jellies, cycles, honeycombs and farm level, so a player who resets often and a player who pushes one long farm are measured on different boards rather than being forced into the same ranking.

Progression and currencies

What is farm value?

Farm value is the single number that measures how far along you are. It is what gates honey type unlocks, and it drives the Scale of Production tiers — SoP tier 0 sits at 1,000 farm value, and each tier after that is 1,000 times the last, running up to tier 20 at 1e63. Everything you build, upgrade and produce feeds it. See the farm value page for the full ladder.

Is there a player level or XP?

No. Honey, Inc. has no XP system and no player level. Progression is measured by farm value instead, which is why two players with the same play time can be at very different points depending on what they built.

How do I get Honeycombs?

Honeycombs are the hard currency and they come from wasps, crates, mail, daily rewards, ads and referrals. They are server-authoritative, so balances are held on the server rather than on your device. You spend them on boosts and on epic research, which is the category of upgrade that survives a reset.

What do Royal Jellies do?

Royal Jellies are the prestige currency, earned by reincarnating. Each one grants a permanent +1.2% earnings bonus, and the total is capped at +25%. That cap is worth knowing early: past roughly 21 Royal Jellies the bonus stops growing, so the reason to keep resetting after that point is the fresh run itself rather than the multiplier.

How many honey types are there?

Ten, running from Basic Honey with a base value of 2 up to Temporal Honey at 18,000,000, with Wildflower, Clover, Acacia, Manuka, Buckwheat, Tupelo, Royal Jelly and Quantum honey in between. Each one needs a farm value threshold to unlock. Switching to a new type starts a fresh farm at that type's base value, so it is a mid-game reset rather than a pure upgrade — and each new farm opens in the morning.

Farm systems

What is the maximum bee capacity?

500 bees. Capacity starts at 50 and moves through five upgrade levels: 50, 100, 200, 350 and 500. Refill rate is upgraded separately across five levels too, from 1 bee per second up to 5.4 per second at maximum, so a fully upgraded farm both holds more bees and replaces them far faster.

How many hives can I have?

Four hive slots on a farm, with nine hive tiers to move through — Base Hive, Improved Hive, Advanced Hive and the later tiers beyond them. Each tier costs progressively more per slot, so filling all four slots at a high tier is a serious investment rather than a routine purchase.

How much research is there?

Regular research spans 13 tiers with 4 to 5 upgrade groups per tier, 57 distinct groups in total, and each group has multiple levels of its own. On top of that there are 18 epic research upgrades bought with Honeycombs. The Research Lab itself has 6 levels and takes the research multiplier from 1 up to 10 times.

Reincarnation and resets

What is reincarnation?

Reincarnation is the prestige reset. It wipes your farm in exchange for Royal Jellies, which grant a permanent earnings bonus. You need to have reached at least honey tier 4, Acacia Honey, and to have earned a minimum of 25,000,000 during the run before you can reincarnate.

Do I lose epic research when I reincarnate?

No. Epic research persists across reincarnation, and so do your Honeycombs. That is the whole point of the epic tree: it is bought once and kept permanently, unlike the regular research tree, which is part of the farm and resets with it. This is why spending Honeycombs on epic research generally beats spending them on temporary boosts once you intend to reset more than once.

Account and data

How do I delete my account?

Open the game, tap the gear icon in the bottom action bar to reach Settings, scroll to the Account section, and tap Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone — your farm, currencies and cloud save are erased with no restore. If you are playing as a guest the button reads Delete Local Data instead. If you no longer have the app installed, use the request form at honeyinc.app/request-deletion.html.
